Fun in the sun with Geneva

Lake Geneva
Urban swimming, vine-yard tours, gastronomic experiences and much more…
If you’re looking for a summer city break destination offering culture, gastronomic experiences, outdoor activities and great weather; then look no further than Geneva, Europe’s leading city break destination.

More traditionally associated with chocolate and watch making, Geneva has a thriving summer activity scene with a wealth of outdoor activities available including urban swimming in Lake Geneva, one of Europe’s largest lakes. Thanks to the Bains des Pâquis, Geneva’s very own beach, this has become one of the top urban swimming spots in Switzerland. The panoramic views of the city and the Alps, as well as the sunbathing decks and a cafe, make this the ultimate place to visit during the summer months. There’s also the option to go sailing, paddle-boarding or take a cruise on the lake.

For those looking to venture outside of the city, then a visit to Mont Saléve is one not to be missed. The panoramic views of the surrounding Alps, as well as a bird’s eye view of the Jet D’Eau, the city’s most iconic landmarks, makes the hike up more than worth it. There’s also the option to take a cable car up to the summit if you don’t fancy the walk or thrill-seekers can even opt to paraglide off the top.

Geneva is a gastronomic heaven, and foodies can indulge in a food safari through some of Geneva’s Michelin starred restaurants departing at 4pm every Friday; whilst wine lovers can cycle through the vineyards and sample some of the finest local wines. As the sun sets, night-owls should head to the L’Atelier Cocktail Club which is one of the best places to enjoy a cocktail on a balmy summer’s evening.

Guests can visit the city with Geneva Tourism’s ‘Weekend Package: Geneva Outdoors’ which includes one hotel room with complimentary breakfast; pedalo rental; a one hour cruise around Lake Geneva, and a ticket for the Mount Salève cable car. Visitors will also be able to enjoy free public transport with the Geneva Transport Card, ensuring a hassle-free weekend of exploring.
