Venues & Events Live 2015 enjoys 6% visitor rise

Taking place on the 23rd & 24th September this year, Square Meal’s award-winning exhibition, Venues & Events Live, saw a healthy six per cent rise in visitors, with a total attendance figure of 7,138 (ABC audit pending), thereby maintaining its position as the UK’s largest event industry exhibition in the UK.

Exhibitors agreed that not just the quantity, but the quality of visitors was central the show’s success:

Louise Henry of the Coca Cola London Eye stating, “Everything was perfect: quality leads with genuine event budgets,” while Harry Warner of Kings’ Venues claimed, “Our stand was a huge success and certainly got a lot of traffic”,

Hanan Andaloussi of Barrio Bars was delighted with the immediate return on investment seen from the show, saying, “We’ve already had a £16,000 booking from the exhibition and we have another eight enquiries up to £25,000 I’m working on from the event.”

First-time exhibitor, Rebecca Dunphy of drink tastings company Sniff & Spit enthused, “I was overwhelmed by the response and am wading through enquiries still”. Similarly, Bubblegum Balloons said, “We made some great contacts. It was really well organised and the overall vibe and buzz around the show was fantastic.”

Show Director, Graham Hill, was delighted at how refreshing and progressive the event was this year: “Having enjoyed a fabulous 10th Anniversary show last year, we made the point of adding lots of fresh content and features to this year’s event, all of which were enthusiastically embraced by our audience; from star chefs, including Tom Kerridge speaking and Marcus Wareing manning his restaurant group’s stand throughout the two days; to the new Experiential Hub, which saw visitors gaining hands-on experience of various teambuilding activities. Visitors were also informed and inspired by a host of new exhibitors, from venues as diverse as the House of Commons and Disneyland Paris, to a plethora of event suppliers, from top-end hospitality options and a wide range of luxury corporate gifts, to event technology products and wacky food scientists! It really was a cracking show – but most importantly, visitors were evidently there to book and buy!”

Square Meal’s Head of Marketing, Rachel Harty, commented: “We work hard on ensuring that the show is informative and reflects the vibrant creativity that abounds in the event industry. We think this year’s combination of increased visitor numbers with a high quality audience shows that the event is firmly established as the industry show to attend. We are already making big plans for the 2016 show to capitalise on this.”
