Showman's Show resounding success for Event Hire Association

The Event Hire Association stand at Showman's Show
The Event Hire Association (EHA) utilised the Showman’s Show 2015 to its fullest to demonstrate its on-going commitment to representing the needs of the event industry.
Taking an increased presence, when it was held at Newbury Showground, 21st – 22nd October. This included a much larger stand, promoting essential business services, a programme of networking activity and strengthening key relationships.

It was the perfect opportunity to showcase some of the bespoke EHA products and services that meet the needs of hirers and suppliers in the events marketplace. With the launch of the EHA’S new Code of Practice for Portable Sanitation for the events sector; the EHA SafeHire Certification Scheme, a new print on demand licence for their members and EHA training schemes for LPG use, insurance and IOSH being just some of the talking points.

The recently-launched Future Hirers initiative aimed at attracting and progressing talented young people in the sector, was also part of the EHA offering for the first time at this year’s Show. This enabled the association to offer something to the event management students in attendance.

Networking opportunities during the Show included an over-subscribed members’ event on the first evening with 24 people attended to hear from FleetCheck who delivered a session on ‘Managing Vehicles and Drivers, your Legal and Duty of Care Responsibilities; a must for owners of vehicle fleets large or small!’ Held at the popular gastropub The Crab and Boar in Chieveley, members enjoyed a meal together once the session was over.

Stuart Tyrell from the EHA’s marketing team was honoured to be asked by the event’s organiser Lance Show & Publications Limited to judge the outdoor exhibition stands. Stuart spent much of the first day visiting the spaces and engaging with exhibitors, deciding on three winners for the different categories and overall ‘Best in Show’ to Furniture4Events.

Graham Arundell, EHA’s managing director, commented on the EHA’s success at the Show: “The larger space ensured that there were plenty of new visitors to the stand all eager to find out more about the association’s numerous initiatives. The interest in our IOSH courses due to their cost effectiveness is really pleasing. Overall we took lots of leads for training and insurance underlining our ability to look after our members and deliver what they need. In addition our members showed us a fantastic amount of support throughout. We now have a fantastic platform to go on to bigger and better things for 2016.”
