Outstanding results for 2nd China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2015

The highly-anticipated China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (CXSRITE) 2015 was successfully held for the second time from September 11-13, 2015 at the Xi’an Qujiang International Conference&Exhibition Centre. Covering an area of approximately 20,000 square meters, the 3-day event welcomed approximate 500 exhibitors and buyers from 33 countries, regions and provinces. On September 11, 2015, a trade-visitors only day, CXSRITE 2015 attracted approximately 3,000 professionals from the tourism industry. The exhibition also attracted more than 40,000 public visitors from September 12-13, 2015.

Organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Administration, and co-organized by Conference&Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd. (Singapore), CXSRITE 2015 commenced with the Silk Road Tourism Promotional Reception on the evening of September 10, 2015 at the Grand Ballroom of Sofitel Hotel on Renmin Square.

This year’s exhibition is also grander in scale, as compared to CXSRITE 2014, with more exhibitors and hosted buyers from countries like Iceland, America, Croatia, Estonia, Russia, Philippines, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong, who participated in CXSRITE 2015 for the very first time.

In addition, Korea was listed as a Country Partner for CXSRITE 2015. As a Country Partner for CXSRITE 2015, Korea featured a wide array of activities and performances on September 12, 2015 to engage with the general public visitors. Some of their activities and performances include B-Boy and Hip Hop performances, Bimbimbap Rice Sampling, as well as video presentation sessions. Korea also offered visitors with plenty of photo opportunities with mascots and other traditional costumes.

To help exhibitors and trade visitors better understand the ever-evolving tourism industry, CXSRITE 2015 hosted, for the first time, the China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo Seminar Series, where two leaders from the tourism industry, share key insights with a roomful of audiences. Mr Kevin Cheong, Chairman for Association of Singapore Attractions, covered the topic of “Leading Your Tourism Business into the Digital Age”, while Dr Adam Wu, Chief Operating Officer for China Business Network, spoke about “The Future of Inbound and Outbound Tourism in China.”

The common stage that was situated at Hall B2 was also bustling with activities, performances, presentation sessions and performances. Destination presentation sessions were conducted by various countries and destinations such as Czech Tourism, Embassy of Iceland, Tianjin Tourism Administration, Embassy of Indonesia, Embassy of Malaysia and Sri Lanka Tourism Board, while other exhibitors held exciting performances and activities such as lucky draw contests and dance performances.

To conclude CXSRITE 2015 on a high note, a special awards ceremony was held on the last day of the three-day event to celebrate yet another year of success, as well as to recognize the efforts of exhibitors in showcasing their countries and destinations. The awards included “Best Organized Booth Award,” “Best Booth Award,” “Best Booth Design Award,” “Most Creative Booth Award,” “Most Popular Booth Award,” and “Best Sales Product Award.”
