Nottingham Conferences unveil significant product investment
at the Academic Venue Show

Nottingham Conferences will be promoting the sporting, conference, meeting, events and residential facilities at the University of Nottingham at the Academic Venue Show on 20 May 2015, following a significant investment boost which includes plans for a new £40 million state-of-the-art sports village due for competition late 2016.

As a constantly evolving product, the investment at the University of Nottingham will see up to seven new academic spaces constructed across the three campuses - Jubilee Campus, University Park and Sutton Bonington - available for private hire.  In addition, the development of a new David Ross Sports Village on the University Park campus, equipped with a fitness suite, glass squash courts, indoor sprint track, dance studio, two sports halls and a climbing wall, will further broaden the brands’ appeal to international and national sporting and youth groups.

The new purpose-built academic spaces will complement the universities existing 350+ meeting, conference and event rooms and three sport centres, in addition to 4,000+ residential bedrooms which are available for hire 22 weeks  of the year during the students’ Christmas, Easter and summer breaks, cementing the venue’s position as a complete meeting, conference, events, sports and accommodation solution.

Appealing to predominately to the sports, schools, associations and religious groups market, both domestic and international, the Academic Venue Show at the ILEC Conference Centre, Earls Court, London is an interactive, action-packed exhibition showcasing a wide variety of over 40 exceptional conference and event facilities.

Andrew May, General Manager of Nottingham Conferences commented: “We are delighted that the University of Nottingham is undertaking such a significant investment into its academic and sports facilities, which in turn provides with us with outstanding facilities to hire out to private groups. Representing three conference venues based at one of the UK’s top University’s - Jubilee Campus, University Park and Sutton Bonington - Nottingham Conferences offers clients facilities which consistently remain ahead of the times.”

Centrally located in the heart of the UK, the University of Nottingham is in easy access of the East Midlands Airport, Nottingham train station and M1. Boasting The University Park Campus, Jubilee Campus and the Sutton Bonington Campus, the university remains at the forefront of learning and discovery, boasting state-of-the art venues and technical equipment to match this.
