Mexico joins MITT travel exhibition in Moscow as Partner Country

The Mexican Tourism Board have signed an agreement to become the Partner Country for the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT) 2015, the leading event in Russia to conduct business with key members of the travel trade. MITT 2015 will take place in Moscow, Russia from March 18-21, 2015 at the Expocentre.

Through partnership with MITT 2015, the Mexican Tourism Board will be highlighting Mexico as the destination of choice for Russian travel agencies, outbound tour operators and travelers.

In January 2015, authorities in Mexico opened a tourism office in Moscow. The Ambassador of Mexico in Russia, Ruben Beltran Guerrero, stated, “This year we are expecting to receive some 27 million foreign tourists and we are interested in having half a million tourists from Russia in four to five years.”

Ambassador Guerrero added: “We are also planning to construct a new modern airport in Mexico City, the passenger capacity of which will increase from 40 million passengers to 150 million per year.” (Ref: Sputnik)

Mexican airline providers, hotels and resorts, regional tourism attractions, tour operators and destination management companies will exhibit at the 22nd edition of MITT. Confirmed exhibitors include: Aeromexico, Condor Verde Travel, Mexico Experts Travel, Travel Service Mexico, Viajes Zvezda, Oasis Hotels, Occidental Hotels&Resorts, All Mexico Destinations, Arminas Travel, Grupo Bluebay, Catalonia Hotels&Resorts, Hard Rock Hotels Cancun, Prime Travel and the State of Puebla.

MITT Event Director, Maria Badakh, is delighted to have Mexico as the Partner Country this year, commenting: “Since MITT’s inception, the event’s Partner Country status has helped many countries enhance their promotional activities in the Russian market, and we’re pleased to add Mexico to this list. MITT is the leading platform in Russia, one of the world’s top five industry events, and the preferred choice for over 1,800 companies who annually participate.”

The Mexican stand will be situated in the Forum Pavilion, with destinations from Africa, Australasia, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.
