IBTM has announced details of the market-leading Knowledge Program for its first ever IBTM Americas event this year, taking place from 5 – 6 September 2018 in Mexico City. The two day-long program has a packed schedule of over 25 tailored knowledge sessions aimed at event planners and buyers looking to stay ahead of trends and learn about the industry’s hot topics in the emerging South, Central and North American meetings and events market.

The newest event in IBTM’s global portfolio of meetings, incentive, conference and events industry tradeshows, IBTM Americas’ inspiring Knowledge Program is designed to give attendees tangible learnings and leave them feeling inspired with new ideas to make a real difference to their own businesses. Sessions in this year’s program include an exploration of disruptive ideas to successfully reinvent the business conference; an insight into the secret of international representation in Latin America; and a study into medical meetings management and ethical challenges for meetings professionals. Also on the agenda is a presentation by IACC on their future of meetings research.

David Hidalgo, Show Director, IBTM Americas, said: “We’re very excited to announce our 2018 Knowledge Program. We know that education is a major draw for attendees, especially in growing markets like ours, and we’ve worked hard to create a schedule of CPD-accredited content that is fresh and relevant to our attendees and which will enhance their events expertise, keeping them on the cutting-edge of industry trends and see them leaving with new thinking, expertise and know-how.”

IBTM Americas’ engaging speakers are drawn from a variety of organisations both from within and outside of the events industry, including leading futurist speaker Vito di Bari, Olivier Frenette from C2 Montreal, Arnaud Drijard of Moveo Lab, Lisa Aquino from Encore Productions and Juan Carlos Lozano of Creatividad.

So far, more than 400 exhibitors have signed up to exhibit at IBTM Americas 2018. Exhibitors attending from North America include NYC Company, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, who will join domestic exhibitors including Cancun and CDMX, Monterrey and Guadalajara, as well as international exhibitors including Dominican Republic, Peru, Jamaica, Cuba, Portugal, France, Czech Republic, Dubai and Thailand.

With Hosted Buyer recruitment well underway, the team is on track to secure a high-profile group of over 1,000 event planners and buyers from across North America, Latin America and Europe.

Attracting over 3,400 visitors each year, the event is built around two days of pre-planned, mutually matched business meetings. There will also be two focused networking events to give attendees optimum opportunities to do business.

IBTM Americas is the result of the amalgamation of IBTM’s Latin American event with its North American event. The decision to merge the two events was taken in 2017 due to growing crossover in the Americas region and demand from clients to cover the full continent under one roof.
