Hire Convention returns for 2016 - ‘Smarter – Safer – Stronger’

 Hire Convention 2015
Following the success of last year’s Hire Convention, organiser Hire Association Europe and Event Hire Association (HAE EHA) has announced that it is set to return to Loughborough’s Holywell Park from 21st – 22nd September 2016. Focussing on the important issues currently facing the Hire industry, future proofing the sector will be prevalent throughout.

Promising an increase in exhibitors and delegates the theme for the two-day event will be ‘Smarter – Safer – Stronger’ ensuring it is relevant to anyone currently working within construction, facilities management, maintenance and events including independents and general hire companies.

A number of the HAE EHA’s major initiatives will be high on agenda. These include the widening skills gap and attracting new talent into the sector with their Future Hirers scheme, fully supported by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). Adherence to best practise and achieving SafeHire certification as all HAE EHA members are required to be accredited by 1st January 2018. Training in sales, customer service and digital marketing will also be key topics. As will industry trends and technological advancement; from theft prevention, and a lack of innovation in manufacturing to productivity and profitability. Certain sessions will be delivered in a shorter, punchier style presentations in a bid to appeal to the smaller, independent hirers.

Graham Arundell, HAE EHA’s managing director comments: “The Hire Convention surpassed expectations in 2015 and we’re committed to ensuring that this success continues. We’re talking to our membership and have formed a steering committee to help us shape this year’s event. As the only event of its kind to bring together hire businesses in the plant, tool and event sectors there will be a real emphasis on delivering quality content and networking opportunities. The Hire Convention 2016 offers the perfect platform for the industry to come together in one place to meet, learn and share best practise.”

With over 300 m2 of indoor space and an outdoor area there is space for more than 60 companies to display and demonstrate their products and services. In 2015 the exhibitors included everything from tool hire companies, plant equipment providers, utilities, Health & Safety advisors and training providers to generators, lighting towers, portable sanitation, trackway and scaffolding.
