City Seasons Al Hamra Abu Dhabi Hotel will be present at ITB Berlin from March 4-8, under the umbrella of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Cultural Authority (ADTCA) that have allocated a huge marketing budget to attract European tourists to the UAE capital.
With Etihad Airways and their partner Air Berlin, offering cheap fares – better deals in UAE - A huge number of German tourists are now choosing the UAE capital as destination of their annual break in the sun.

Even tourists to Dubai will fly to Abu Dhabi’s airport and spend a couple nights in the city before moving to neighboring Emirates. This creates the resurgence of tourism from Germany as used to be the case over a decade ago.

ITB Berlin becomes the natural stop for Abu Dhabi Hoteliers to meet travel agents and outbound German tour operators, for renewing contracts and cutting new deals.

“We have witnessed the comeback of the retired tourist- over 55 years- in Abu Dhabi, said Dylan Aniff, general manager of City Seasons Al Hamra Abu Dhabi. “They are majority who take advantage of this destination as they are rate- driven for their holiday. They chose our hotel for its central location, its easy access and also the free access we offer them to Saadiyat Beach.”

Over the past weeks, City Seasons Al Hamra has welcomed over 200 German tourists with an average stay of 5 days. Confirmed bookings from German market cover the coming couple of months with further deals materializing daily.

This is great prospect for Abu Dhabi hotels, with this tourist mix being very lucrative as the spending power of the German tourist is highest with F&B consumption added to the room bill.

“While F&B revenue increases, Wifi cost is at its lowest, as German tourists hardly use their smart phones, compared to the Chinese guests,” added Dylan with a smile.
