National Passenger Survey results: St Pancras International is the UK’s best station

Today St Pancras International has scored the highest for customer satisfaction for a train station in Passenger Focus’ Autumn 2014 National Passenger Survey, earning a rating of 96 per cent. The result marks the seventh successive year that St Pancras has topped the National Passenger Survey. For Autumn 2014, the station has seen its satisfaction ratings improve further across key areas such as the quality of facilities and services available and the provision of information for customers.

High Speed One Ltd (HS1) owns St Pancras International and is the UK’s only high speed rail line connecting London to the Continent. It is recognised as the best performing railway in the country.

Nicola Shaw, CEO of HS1 Ltd, said: “We are delighted that St Pancras has continued its proud record in the National Passenger Survey, achieving the number one spot each year since its reopening in 2007. This is testament to the commitment and enthusiasm of the teams at HS1 and our partners: Network Rail High Speed, the train operating companies, and the retailers at the station. We’re especially pleased with our highest ever ratings for choice and availability of shops as well as for provision of information for train passengers.”

She continued: “We’re very proud of what we have achieved at St Pancras over the past year. Retailers at the station experienced excellent growth over 2014, posting record results over the Christmas period. In addition, the station recently released ‘StP’, the first ever app for a UK station. More and more people are coming to the station every year, not only to catch a train but also for fantastic shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as the experience of this magnificent Victorian building. Not forgetting, of course, the excellent train connections provided at the station, including the high speed line to Kent and the Continent, which is the most reliable rail link in Europe.”
