Based in London, Ana will assume responsibility for coordinating and developing all aspects of design and technical services across the region to ensure brand guidelines are implemented in all construction, conversion and refurbishment projects for Accor’s economy and midscale brands.
These include Mercure, Novotel, ibis and Ibis Styles and Ana will also be instrumental in the development of new brands in the region, including Tribe and JO&JOE.
Ana joined Accor in 2006 and most recently held the position of Director of Design and Technical Services in the UK and Ireland, providing support to the development team and working with Accor’s many hotel partners across the UK. Prior to that, Ana was a project manager for Accor Spain, responsible for new hotel construction projects across all of Accor’s brands in Spain.
Thomas Dubaere, COO Accor Northern Europe said: “We’re currently enjoying a fantastic period of growth and transformation at Accor, with the expansion of established brands as well as new brands being introduced across Northern Europe. Each brand has its own unique identity and set of defining characteristics to make it identifiable wherever our guests are in the world. This needs architectural vision and creativity from our design and technical services team which is why we identify the best talent and experts to provide our hotel partners with ready access to the support they need.
“Ana’s passion for our brands and architectural expertise means she is the ideal person to lead the design and technical services team. Her leadership will be instrumental in ensuring all development projects are executed to the high standards, we and our partners expect.”
Ana Jorge, Executive Director of Design and Technical Services, Northern Europe said: “It’s an exciting time for Accor, with the development of some bold and innovative new design concepts across established brands such as the new ibis public spaces and bedrooms, new meeting room concepts for Novotel and, brand launches including Tribe and JO&JOE in the UK.
“Design is an essential element of any hotel brand. Whether it’s well established such as ibis, Mercure and Novotel or a new development like TRIBE and JO&JOE, each is unique in its design and immediately identifiable. Our vision is to use our design expertise to create spaces within hotels that enhance guest experience, whether visiting for a coffee, attending a business meeting or staying in one of our rooms. I’m looking forward to continuing to fulfil this vision for Accor in Northern Europe and look forward to working with more of our hotel partners in developing the brands across the Accor portfolio.”
