New Year, new appointment at   London Bridge Hotel

Julio Marques
The independent London Bridge Hotel, celebrating 21 years of operation welcomes Julio Marques as General Manager with immediate effect.
Julio Marques returns to London Bridge Hotel from the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) where, over a five year period as General Manager, he enjoyed a proven track record, consistently delivering strong sales and profit growth and specialising in building and motivating teams to provide high levels of quality service.

His key skills include implementing brand changes, improving staff moral, identifying and maximising revenue streams in a challenging environment, while being committed to delivering outstanding service in the luxury hotel, conference and restaurant market.

Prior to working for IHG, Marques enjoyed a successful five year's stint as Food & Beverage Manager of London Bridge Hotel launching their main restaurant Londinium. Since leaving in 2008, he has worked for a number of luxury companies including Small Luxury Hotels of the World as Brand Standards Manager and as General Manager of both The Lansdowne Club, London and four star Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa, Surrey.

Said Julio: “I am thrilled and excited to be returning to London Bridge Hotel in its 21st year.”

Describing himself as a “leader and a coach”, he continued: "I am very proud of my history with London Bridge Hotel and the success that it and the team have enjoyed and I look forward to building on this and making the hotel a true 21st century business.” Marques believes that by “realising the potential of your staff, you can realise the potential of the hotel.”

One of his first innovations since rejoining the hotel is to launch an Arts initiative - Open Call - in collaboration with Team London Bridge to support Southwark based artists.  More details will unveiled this month.
