Joining from Sofitel London Gatwick, Izhar Hassan has over 15 years of experience working in and managing Front of House at a number of large hotels in the UK and the Middle East.
Hassan has extensive knowledge of working within a pre-opening hotel environment, in the role as pre-opening Front Office Manager at the Holiday Inn Kuwait in 2005. Having worked within the InterContinental Hotel Group for much of his career, Hassan brings with him the knowledge of what is expected of a 5-star hotel.
With 17 years’ experience in human resources and people development in the hospitality sector, Julia Fowler joins the InterContinental London – The O2 from her role as HR Business Partner at D&D London and prior to that at ISS Facility Services UK and Accor Hotels; bringing with her invaluable experience in recruitment and retention in both the hotel and restaurant sector.
In her role as HR Director, Julia is responsible for the recruitment and training programmes of up to an estimated 500+ team members within the hotel’s first full year of operation and a commitment to secure 40% from the local community and up to 25 full time apprentices.
Joining from the Park House Hotel & PH2O Spa in West Sussex in his role as Spa & Club Manager, Stuart Brand joins the InterContinental London – The O2 as Spa Manager where he is responsible for the management and development of the 1,000sqm luxury Spa, which includes eight treatment rooms, a steam room and an impressive 17m indoor swimming pool with feature Jacuzzi and cannon neck massage jets.
Stuart has nearly 20 years’ experience in the health and fitness sector including management roles with Jumeirah at the Carlton Tower Hotel and Esporta gyms and fitness clubs nationwide. In his position at the InterContinental London – The O2, Stuart will be responsible for delivering a luxurious and relaxing premium spa experience to guests of the hotel and private members as well as overseeing the hotel’s collaboration with global spa brand, ESPA for a full range of signature treatments.
