Michel, who is a French and Mauritian national, has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality sector, first in the culinary field and later in hotel management.
He started his career in 1989 and worked for three years with famous French Chefs in renowned Michelin Stars restaurants such as ‘Collonges-au-Mont-D’Or’ with Paul Bocuse and ‘l’Auberge de l’Eridan’ with Marc Veyrat.
Between 1992 and 2008, he worked as Executive Chef in luxury hotels St Barthelemy in the French West Indies, and The Residence in Mauritius.
In 2008 he was promoted to Executive Assistant Manager in charge of F&B at The Residence, Mauritus. In 2009, he was appointed as Executive Assistant Manager in charge of projects & development and was responsible for the operation & processes development at The Residence, Maldives & The Residence, Zanzibar.
In 2010, he was appointed as ‘Resident Manager’ of The Residence, Zanzibar and participated in its successful opening in May 2011, before being promoted to ‘General Manager’ in 2014.
Michel’s privileged relations with the different sectors of the hospitality industry will be an important asset for Heritage Le Telfair, and will continue to make this institution a staple of the luxury holiday market in Mauritius.
