The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali welcomes new Executive Pastry Chef

The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali has welcomed Chef Wijdan Purnama to take charge as its new Executive Pastry Chef. He has been working in the culinary industry focusing on pastry and bakery for several leading hotels in Jakarta.

Passionately creating and inspired by innovation of dessert Chef Wijdan learned his basic cooking and pastry in Akademi Tata Boga Bandung and continued to develop his skill to the next level of associate’s degree with Chocolate Sculpture with Stephane Treand MOF and World Champion. There he learned the beauty of creating art with chocolate. He also joined Ewald Notter, The World Champion Patisserie 2001 in Lyon, France to enhance his creativity level by creating sugar art in unique and beautiful shapes. During his journey, he created various pastry and bakery products with outstanding decoration and he had successfully won an award from Indonesia Hotels & Restaurant Association (PHRI) and Bandung Chef Association (BCA) for the best creation in pastry product.  

On his appointment, Chef Wijdan will be taking care of the pastry and bakery section for all dining venues at the resort including Seasonal Tastes, Velada Tapas Bar & Kitchen, Prego Italian restaurant, Ikan Restaurant & Bar, Kites Bar & Lounge and By The Water as well as taking care of catering for Bali International Convention Centre.

During his leisure time, Chef Wijdan enjoys fishing with friends and he likes to challenge himself in motorbike racing.
