CWT Meetings & Events expands team to keep up with new wins

CWT Meetings & Events has added 13 new members to its team in recent months. The expansion follows a succession of new wins in its event management and strategic meetings management business which have created the need for more staff in the already busy team.

Laura Cooper and Gemma Strutt have joined as project managers and Mark Broadbank, previously with Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s marketing team, is now senior project manager. Alanna Wilson also joins as senior project manager.

Briony Bagge is a new project executive, and Laura Billson and Lolly Marsh have joined as meeting planners, with Shannon Marais coming aboard as a graduate meeting planner fresh from her event management degree at Greenwich University.

Steph Cannon and Freddie Myrhaug are new group travel planners. Jake Groom is a support agent and Izzy Dickinson, former intern, has re-joined the team after graduating from Bournemouth University as junior project. Natasha Abbas is a new account manager specialising in the technology and pharmaceutical sectors, as announced last month.

There have also been six internal promotions as part of CWT Meetings & Events’ ongoing staff development scheme. Victoria Verdon is now a project executive (previously a meeting planner), Carmen Dos Reis is now a senior meeting planner (was a meeting planner), Scott Blondel is senior group travel planner (was a group travel planner). Dasha Soboleva, Sarah Jones and Jo Harris are now project managers – previously project executives.

The team’s successful internship scheme continues, and as they say goodbye to Shannel De Freitas who is returning to Bournemouth University in the autumn, another intern from the same university will join the marketing and supplier management team soon.

Ian Cummings, regional director Northern/Eastern Europe, CWT Meetings & Events said: “I am thrilled to see such progress with our strategy to promote from within, build industry expertise and support graduate programmes. I look forward to getting to know and working with all our new starters.”
