Leicester’s Belmont Hotel recruits leading Chef to head up its restaurant offering

The independently owned Belmont Hotel in Leicester has appointed Jeremy Jones to the position of Head Chef.  Jeremy will be responsible for a team of five chefs and will be adding his unique style to the menu at Windows on the Walk, the Hotel’s restaurant, and the hotel’s extensive conference and banqueting operation, as he creates dishes that encapsulate his version of modern British cuisine - with a twist of fun.

Jeremy brings with him nearly 20 years of experience from around the world.  He takes his inspiration from his stints at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra Australia where he was Senior Chef De Partie for its fine dining experience and at Parliament House where Jeremy cooked for the then Australian Prime Minister John Howard and his VIP guests.  Closer to home Jeremy was senior sous chef at the De Vere Latimer House where he was responsible for managing all of its kitchens and teams of chefs, as well as consultant executive head chef for the restaurants of many of the UK’s most prestigious sporting venues including Wembley, Twickenham, Millennium Stadium, Wimbledon and Pride Park.

As Head Chef at The Belmont Hotel Jeremy will add his unique creativity and flair to the overall running of the entire food offering across its restaurant, bar, room service and various meeting and banqueting suites.  He will be taking a particular focus on sourcing from local suppliers and producers to help create his style of modern British cuisine, and imparting his knowledge and developing the careers of his team of chefs and kitchen porters.

Commenting on his appointment Eloic Montagnier, General Manager of The Belmont Hotel said: ‘Jeremy has a fantastic reputation for creating mouth-watering dishes that offer sumptuous flavours, all made with the best local and seasonal ingredients.  He also brings with him a real flair for innovation and a hunger for delighting guests time after time.  We are looking forward to seeing his input into our menus and working with the team here to create a top notch dining experience in the heart of Leicester city centre.’

Jeremy Jones added: ‘Working with the team at The Belmont is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m thrilled that I can bring my style of cooking and high quality dishes to its menu and to the city of Leicester. I’m especially looking forward to working with the team within the hotel and with the great local suppliers and independent producers we have on our doorstep.’
