While the five star resort is all about encouraging guests to take some well-earned time out from their busy lives, sometimes, it’s just not possible to set aside a full day, or night, for some R and R.
The new Mind Therapy Room offers a fast-track way to relaxation and mindfulness. It features a Spa.Wave bed which features technology developed by American scientists to treat post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD) of American veterans.
Using a carefully composed blend of Chromatherapy, computer-controlled acoustic and vibrational therapy, this special bed trains the brain to relax and benefit from deep relaxation techniques. Similar to meditation, specific sounds slow down mental activity and vibrational frequencies to move brainwaves from alpha through to delta, the ‘sleep’ waves where healing can take place. It combines the gentle sound waves of special music with a highly efficient vibration massage system integrated into the bed.
The benefits of using the Spa.Wave bed can include increased creativity, power napping and deep relaxation, reduction of stress and mood swings and removal of mental blockages. It also helps support treatment of anxiety and panic attacks, supports the immune system, increases the ability to concentrate, improves sleep quality and quantity, lowers blood pressure, eases muscle tension and helps reduce signs of depression and chronic pain.
Alistair Bramwell, Spa Operations Manager at Rockliffe Hall, says: “The Spa.Wave bed in our new Mind Therapy Room is an exciting addition to what we offer in Rockliffe Hall’s Spa. Our lives are becoming busier and more stressful and this bed is a fabulous way of taking some time out, even if it’s only thirty minutes, to relax and recharge. The bed boasts so many benefits and people who’ve tried it so far have said they feel calmer and sleep better.”
The Mind Therapy Room is included in a variety of Wellness Journey Spa Days but is also bookable for 30 or 60 minute sessions and is available to anyone, not just guests and members visiting Rockliffe Hall for overnight stays, meals or spa days.
