The River Lee, Cork's new M&E offerings elevate the city's status as a key European business hub

The Mirror Room
Following a relaunch this summer, the hotel now fills the gap for a stylish, social and work hub in the emerging city of Cork
Following a big refurbishment this summer, in collaboration with Irish designers O’Donnell O’Neill, The River Lee, Cork is now home to numerous modern and glamorous meeting and event options to cater for all occasions.

The Mirror Room
The Mirror Room is the latest addition to The River Lee’s meeting and event spaces and can accommodate 110 seated and up to 200 standing. With 208sq/m of space it is perfect for weddings, celebrations and private dining. The brand-new state-of-the-art facility, is flooded with natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows, offering unrivalled views overlooking the rushing waters of River Lee. The elegant room is complete with stunning Italian wall tapestries, mirrored wall paneling with sage green banquettes, marble topped tables and mid-century German chandeliers.

The Hub
The hotel is also home to the newly refurbished The Hub – a dedicated business floor made up of eight flexible private hire rooms which can accommodate anywhere from five to 110 people. The Hub offers some of the most sought-after meeting and event spaces in Cork, hosting everything from corporate board meetings to creative brainstorms, thanks to the latest conferencing equipment and inspiring breakout spaces featuring bars and table tennis tables. Unique to The Hub is an outdoor terrace, where companies can host intimate alfresco events overlooking the River Lee.

Emerging Cork
Growth and investment in Cork has been driven from an influx of global brands, predominantly within the burgeoning tech and pharmaceutical industries, moving into the city over the last 25 years. Apple opened its European HQ last year and numerous global tech companies including Dell and Oculus have moved in. Additionally, six out of the world’s top 10 pharmaceutical companies call Cork home, such as Pfizer, MSD and Johnson & Johnson. The hotel’s refurbishment couldn’t have come at a more fitting time, with over one million square feet of new office space in the city being created in the next three years.

Beyond Work
Beyond meetings and conferences, business travellers can enjoy numerous activities on offer in Cork, including a trip to beautiful Old Head Golf Club, which occupies a headland that reaches out over two miles into the Atlantic ocean. Other activities include Cork harbour tours, Blackrock Castle observatory and private tours of Cork City Goal. After a busy day, guests can unwind with drinks and dinner at the new destination bar and restaurant at The River Lee – The River Club – a sleek space, bringing a members club feel to Cork’s city centre, offering a cool atmospheric place to entertain, socialise, eat and drink. The Grill Room channels old school glamour and here, guests can enjoy Cork’s finest bounty with seasonal dishes made with local produce, much of which comes directly from the nearby English Market. Business travellers can then retire to one of the hotel’s newly refurbed rooms, which offer simple stylish comfort with panoramic views of the river and rolling hills beyond.

HOW: Rates start from €186 BB for single occupancy inclusive of VAT and breakfast.
