Budget-design hotel brand Motel One will open 8 new properties with approximately 3,300 rooms over the course of next year. With the already contractually-secured projects, the group is looking at an encouraging growth from 54 hotels with approximately 14 500 rooms to a total of 81 hotels with approximately 23 000 rooms.

All Motel One properties follow the award-winning concept "great design for little money", which offers high service standards, quality materials, an attractive price and modern design in prime inner-city locations. In September 2016, the successful hotel brand was awarded the prestigious PLATOW Property Award in the category Trade / Services / Hotel.

Expansion at home and abroad: market entry in excellent locations
Mid 2016, with the opening of Motel One Basel, the Motel One Group celebrated their market entry in Switzerland and will see a second Motel One opening in Zurich in 2017. 2017 will also see the opening of the first Motel One in Spain: the Motel One Barcelona-Ciutadella will open its doors in a prime location in the cultural hot-spot of Barcelona. Market entry in France is also on the cards, with the first Motel One scheduled to open in Paris in late 2017. Motel One is also looking at expanding at home with two new flagship properties due to open in Berlin in 2017: Motel One Berlin-Upper West directly next to the Gedächtniskirche and Motel One Berlin-Alexanderplatz, with 700 rooms the biggest hotel in the brand’s portfolio.

Additionally, Motel One Munich-Schwabing and Motel One Freiburg will open in Germany in 2017. In the UK, Motel One will expand its presence with a new property located in the heart of Manchester and Motel One Glasgow, located directly in the city center.

During the Expo Real in Munich Motel One will be present at booth 010 / hall C.2.
