The Royal Garden Hotel alongside Hyde Park was, just 50 years ago, the official 1966 World Cup Hotel. In honour of the England victory and to commemorate the then England Captain, the legendary Bobby Moore, the hotel has introduced a special menu.
In collaboration with Bobby’s widow, Stephanie, the dishes are based on his favourite meals.
The new seasonal menu will be available at the Park Terrace lounge and it aims to help raise £50,000 for Cancer Research UK through the Bobby Moore Fund.
Created by Executive Head Chef, Steve Munkley, the dishes will be available from 1st April to 31st December 2016.
Steve says that the wholesome dishes are rich in vital nutrients such as calcium, protein and iron.
The Bobby Moore menu is just one of many ’66 World Cup themed experiences that the hotel has planned to celebrate its golden anniversary. Earlier this year, the hotel launched a room package for football fans, which includes Wembley stadium tour tickets and a football goodie bag. In July, the hotel’s bar will be transformed into the Bobby Moore lounge, offering themed snacks, live screenings and a number of other football-themed activities for guests to enjoy.
