International Bridge Festival returns to Pula, Croatia for 54th tournament

Park Plaza Histria

54th International Pula Bridge Festival: 4-16 September 2015, Park Plaza Histria

Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts, in conjunction with Croatian hospitality partner Arenaturist, will be both the host and leading accommodation provider for participants in the 54th International Pula Bridge Festival, which will see over 800 players from over 40 countries flock to the picturesque region of Pula for the largest tournament of its kind in Europe.

Park Plaza Histria takes a leading role as the venue for this year’s competition, which will take place in its spacious Congress Hall. The hotel itself provides guests with a stunning panoramic sea view and is only 50 metres from the blue flag Histria beach, allowing players to enjoy the best of the Istrian sunshine during breaks between games.

Park Plaza Verudela, Park Plaza Belvedere Medulin, as well as the regions newest opening, Park Plaza Arena Pula (summer 2015), are also expected to accommodate a number of guests from the tournament, which last year saw more than 100 teams and 300 pairs battle it out for the chance to win a 4000 EUR prize.

In recent years the game of Bridge has risen in popularity, with an estimated 60 million people playing across the world. The International Pula Bridge Festival gives enthusiastic players the perfect combination of competition and fun in the tournament’s charming location of Pula, where participants can spend their downtime surrounded by the history and beauty of the coastal town, as well as enjoying a number of activities, including gastro-wine tours, or a visit to the Roman amphitheatre, host to many musical and cultural performers.

Entry to the tournament costs from 15 EUR per day, and there are a number of direct flights into Pula available from the UK.
