Summer blooms at The The Churchill Bar & Terrace at Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill

Winston Churchill found inspiration for some of his paintings in English gardens. This summer The Churchill Bar & Terrace will transport guests to an English country garden with rambling roses and blooming hydrangeas, creating a space in which guests can relax and enjoy a long lazy afternoon, or barmy evenings. To enhance this quintessential experience, the bar will offer summer cocktails and a series of personalised picnic hampers.

Guests of The Churchill Bar & Terrace can personalise their picnic hampers with a host of perfect English snacks, including chilled cucumber and mint soup, Scotch eggs, ham hocks, finger sandwiches and a selection of meats and cheeses, all available alongside fresh-baked breads and an assortment of homemade preserves. Those with a sweet tooth can end their experience with a trifle or Eaton mess. Guests can select the dishes they would like to enjoy and these dishes will then be delivered to the table in a carefully packed picnic hamper.

Those wishing to experience a Traditional Afternoon Tea or a Champagne Afternoon Tea can do so in The Montagu as well as on the The Churchill’s Terrace for £30 and £37 per person.

Throughout Wimbledon, a large screen will be placed on the terrace, allowing guests to enjoy live coverage while savouring special Wimbledon Hamper containing a bottle of Lanson champagne, warm scones with homemade jams and clotted cream, finger sandwiches and strawberries and cream at £110 for 2 people.

The Churchill Bar’s talented team has created a series of special summer cocktails, including a take on Eaton mess with their Eaton Mess-Take made with City of London gin, Sacred Rosehip Cup and Crème de Fraise, all topped off with a meringue nest of whipped cream and strawberry fan. The Botanist comes complete with a ladybird resting on a kaffir lime leaf, the Cherry Blossom is inspired by Churchill’s time spent on the shore of Lake Granda and the Country Pumpkin playfully adapts the Country Bumpkin name.

A selection of finger sandwiches: £14
A selection of cheeses: £11
A selection of cured meat: £11
Chilled cucumber and mint soup: £6
Scotch eggs: £8
