The Alpina Gstaad launches Good Night sleep retreat for winter

Sleep is essential to our health and wellbeing, however, lack of sleep is now such a common problem that in the UK alone over 30% of the population suffers from sleeping issues, and insomnia is the most commonly reported mental health complaint. As a result, the Six Senses Spa at The Alpina Gstaad has launched a three-day Good Night Retreat that combines wellness activities in the restorative Swiss alpine air – proven for its health benefits and higher ion levels that produce purer air quality to aid sleep – with a range of specialised spa treatments that aim to relax the mind, release energy blocks and promote a deep sense of relaxation.

The retreat includes holistic treatments including group yoga sessions, meditation and Shiatsu to restore the body’s natural balance, while guests will also enjoy Alpina Life cuisine that purifies bodies through simple, gentle, and easy cleansing. Specialised spa treatments range from a healing amethyst wrap, divine facial to stimulate energy flow and remove tension, signature Hammam to induce deep relaxation, and Reiki to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual stability.

The hotel’s location in the heart of the Bernese Oberland offers a range of outdoor activities to help clear the mind and promote a healthy lifestyle. Skiing, snowboarding, sledging, ice climbing, hiking and snow golf are just a few experiences to be enjoyed during the winter season.

The retreat runs from 5 to 11 December 2014 and 16 to 20 March 2015 and is priced at CHF 3,800 (approx. £2,500) including two nights in a single Deluxe room. The programme is also available as a five-day retreat.
