Travel 2 to sail away with new MSC Cruises ‘cruise and stay’ tie-up

Travel 2 has announced a new partnership with MSC Cruises as part of the trade-facing tour operator’s plans to further develop its cruise portfolio in 2015.
Launching on the 16th March 2015 this new venture with the cruise line enables agents to book tailor-made packages incorporating MSC itineraries departing from 27 regional airports directly through Travel 2, giving agents more choice and flexibility than ever before.

The worldwide tour operator launched ‘Cruise Plus’ in 2012 following agent feedback. Increasing revenue from £1 – 6 million in the past 12 months, Travel 2 has its sights firmly set on the increasingly popular cruise sector.

Andy Freeth, managing director, Travel 2 commented: “With the UK cruise industry having grown to 1.7 million cruisers; it’s important that our cruise offering is as extensive and competitive as possible to provide agents with a wide range of bespoke cruise packages. This partnership is hopefully the first of many that will enable agents to offer tailored cruise and stay packages to their customers, taking advantage of our unrivalled choice of competitive airfares, global portfolio of hotels, tours and transfers at competitive rates. In the next year you’ll see us investing a lot of time and energy in growing this area”

Giles Hawke, MSC Cruises executive director UK & Ireland said: “Travel 2 has a fantastic reputation among independent travel agents, so this new partnership is very exciting for us. By working together we will be able to get MSC Cruises in front of retailers who may not have worked with us before, as well as those who are looking for great-value cruise-and-stay options. MSC Cruises is committed to expanding its presence in the UK and sees agents as central to this – Travel 2 makes the perfect partner.”
