The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is the world’s largest cruise industry trade association, providing a unified voice and leading authority of the global cruise community.
The association will host its annual CLIA Conference in the UK’s cruise capital, the Port of Southampton, next year. Over the course of three days, delegates will hear from experts inside and outside the cruise industry and have the opportunity to visit P&O Cruises’ Britannia and MSC Cruises’ Meraviglia whilst the ships are in port.
Each time a cruise ship calls in Southampton, approximately £2 million is generated for the UK economy. Due to the port’s significance in the cruise industry, the CLIA Conference has been hosted in Southampton since its inaugural event in 2005.
ABP Regional Director for Southampton Alastair Welch said: “We’re proud to be hosts of CLIA’s flagship travel trade industry event. The port is renowned for its world-class cruise terminals and we work with some great partners in the industry to maintain our excellent reputation.”
Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland director, said: “We’re delighted to partner with ABP as hosts for our 14th CLIA Conference. As the largest travel agent conference in the UK, the event will bring together the entire cruise community, and promises the usual mix of engaging and informative conference content, a trade fair and ship visits.”
