Join Conference Aston chefs in the kitchen this Christmas

Cocktail making at Conference Aston
Conference Aston - Birmingham’s largest residential conferencing venue - is offering corporate Christmas lunches with a twist: get your bosses and colleagues in the kitchen to help prepare everything from the canapés to the Christmas pud!

Following a successful dinner for Aston Business School last year, which saw 17 executive staff members swap their suits for chef whites to help prepare a four-course meal, canapes and cocktails for 155 people, the conference centre is launching its Santa’s Little Helpers offer this year.

Sam Brown, head of Conference Aston, which is part of Aston University, said it wanted to introduce an additional dimension to the usual corporate festive dinner.

“It’s the perfect choice if a management team want something a little different to the standard Christmas party, to give back to their colleagues and say thank you for a fantastic 2018,” she said.

“So, whether it’s the financial director preparing the canapes, the head of HR mixing a special cocktail, or the managing director plating the starter, we’ll be teaching them some professional kitchen tricks from our expert chefs.

“As we’re an academic venue, it’s not surprising we want to add a learning element to our Christmas events, and after the success of last year’s event with the team from the Business School, we thought it would be fun to roll it out.

“It promises to be a great experience and you never know - you could pick up some tips for creating the perfect pigs-in-blankets for your own Christmas dinner.”

Once the visiting chefs have helped with each course, they will join their team in the venue’s contemporary courtyard private dining suites for a well-deserved meal.

Santa’s Little Helpers is just one of the party night offers available throughout the festive season at Conference Aston.
