Academic venues make the grade with AIM Silver accreditation

The Foresight Centre, the University of Liverpool’s premier business conference venue, has become the latest academic institute to achieve Accredited in Meetings (AIM) Silver, the only recognised national quality assurance scheme for the UK conference and events industry.
Having previously achieved AIM Entry-level accreditation, the Foresight Centre applied for Aim Higher, the next level of the accreditation process, which demonstrates the venue’s continued dedication and commitment to improving standards.

CH&Co announces the winner of its 'Under 500 Calories' competition

Charlton House Commis Chef Roxy McDonagh has been voted winner of the CH&Co ‘Under 500 Calories’ competition with her creation of Asian Salmon served with courgette ribbons.
Seventeen top Chefs from across the CH&Co business took part in the final of the ‘Under 500 Calories’ competition, held at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, in a bid to discover the tastiest work-place meal containing 500 calories or less per portion.

The Manor House celebrates World Golf Awards nomination

The Manor House Hotel and Golf Club is celebrating after being nominated as ‘England's Best Golf Hotel' in the prestigious World Golf Awards.
The luxurious venue, which features 18 holes of stunning golf set in 365 acres of Wiltshire countryside, has long been regarded as one of the top stay-and-play courses in the UK, regularly featuring in ‘Top 100 Golf Courses in England' polls.

Donnafugata competing for double honour at World Golf Awards

The most talked-about luxury resort in Italian golf is in contention for new global recognition after receiving a double nomination at the 1st World Golf Awards, which will take place in Portugal in November.
Donnafugata Golf Resort & SPA has been shortlisted to be named as Italy’s Best Golf Resort in 2014, while its renowned Links Course, designed by Italian Franco Piras, is among the nominees to be voted Italy’s Best Golf Course in 2014.

NEC wins sustainability and recycling award

The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) picked up the award for ‘Best Waste and Recycling Scheme’ in the Business category at Birmingham City Council’s first Sustainability and Recycling Awards, held at the city’s Council House on Friday 18 July.
The win comes just weeks after the NEC was “highly commended” at the National Recycling Awards in London and adds to an impressive list of awards recognising the NEC’s on-going commitment to responsibly managing the environmental impact of its operations, which includes the event industry’s AEO Excellence Award for Sustainability in 2010 and 2013.
