A new category for this year, The Best Employer Award is awarded to the hospitality business that recognises the needs and aspirations of its staff and exceeds the minimum requirements as an employer, ensuring all those who are employed are happy, motivated and working towards their individual goals.
Since the merging of Village Urban Resorts and De Vere Hotels, a new policy known as the 'People Plan' was introduced to increase engagement, drive performance, ensure development and ultimately improve customer experience. Within two years, the plan has helped increase staff engagement and confidence in the company with 94% of teams proud to work for the company and 88% recommending it as a great place to work.
