Awards presented to members at annual conferenceVenuemasters, the UK’s leading consortium of academic venues, presented a number of their members with awards recognising their recent achievements in customer service. The awards were part of their annual Conference, held at Telford Innovation Campus, Shropshire on 19 – 21 November, which focused on ‘Great expectations - delivering service excellence’.
Awards were presented during a special ‘Oscars’ themed Gala evening. Harper Adams University took home ‘Best Initiative to Improve Customer Service’ and Mary Catling of Royal Agricultural University won ‘Best Individual Contribution to Customer Service’. The award for highest score in Venuemasters recent Mystery Buyer research programme was shared by Oxford Brookes University and Edinburgh First, who scores were the same.
All winners received a custom made award, framed certificates for display in their venues, as well as bottles of champagne to celebrate. Highly commended venues included King’s Venues and Manchester Metropolitan University for ‘Best Initiative to Improve Customer Service’, and Conference Roehampton and the University of Wolverhampton for ‘Best Individual Contribution to Customer Service’
Speaking of the awards, Marketing and Membership Manager Natalie Hudson said, “We really wanted to showcase the hard work our member venues put into their customer service and improving the experience their clients receive. We hope this year’s winners will inspire their own venues, as well as other member venues, to continue to improve and develop all aspects of their customer service.”
The awards will return for 2015, with next year’s Conference set to take place at College Court, part of the University of Leicester, from 18 – 20 November.
