Timbuktu Travel wins Travel & Leisure category at the missiontm GoodWebGuide Awards 2017

Timbuktu Travel, the daring online Africa travel company, revolutionising the way travellers plan trips to Africa, is thrilled to announce it has been selected as the winner of the Travel & Leisure category at the missiontm GWG Awards 2017, cementing its place as a leading website in travel.

Held each year, the missiontm GWG Awards are presented to websites that showcase excellence in their field. With fierce competition for each category, 2017 saw entries across a wide range of lifestyle interests, and with a judging panel including Sophie Conran, Rupa Ganatra, The Midult and Jeff Lynn.   

Timbuktu Travel’s beautiful website, with eye-catching imagery, hands over complete control to the consumer to build their dream trip to Africa online. The innovative and easy-to-use website empowers travellers to have fun building an itinerary from scratch, choosing from hundreds of hand-picked African lodges and boutique hotels, or taking inspiration from the website’s beautiful pages.  

Highlights from the judges comments included, ‘"This makes me want to go on safari RIGHT NOW!" (Fiona Humberstone, The Brand Stylist) and "It was the ease of Timbuktu’s website design that we enjoyed most, allowing us to quickly navigate the pages of a subject that can often be confusing and overwhelming" (Twins That Travel.) Tony Brennand of Digital Marmalade commented "I love the imagery, but also the way Timbuktu has packaged up their offering, from their suggestions into build your own – it feels unique, exclusive, distinct and something that will deliver on the impossible – the dream!”  

Timbuktu, shortlisted under the Travel & Leisure category, was in brilliant company alongside Eurostar, Greaves India and Fulling Mill, and was thrilled to be crowned the winner of this category at the awards ceremony on 6 November.
