Tuesday 15th November saw founders of Firmdale Hotels and pioneers of the international boutique hotel business, Tim and Kit Kemp, awarded the Platinum Circle by Hospitality Design Magazine, at the US publication’s 28th annual awards held at the Marriott Marquis New York.

The Kemps were initiated into the prestigious Platinum Circle group at the black tie gala alongside John Ceriale, Propsect Hotel Advisors/Blackstone Group, chef and restaurateur Tom Colicchio, Jeffrey Beers of Jeffrey Beers International and Clodagh.

Michael Adams, Editorial Director, Hospitality Magazine said ‘we feel that Tim and Kit Kemp are a most worthy, logical, and inevitable choice for our Platinum Circle. Their names have long been synonymous with magnificent design, creativity, and service.  We are incredibly grateful and honored they have chosen to accept our Platinum Circle Award’.

For 35 years, Hospitality Design magazine has awarded industry leaders - designers, architects, hoteliers, restaurateurs - with the Platinum Circle designation.  Over the years, more than 100 honorees have been celebrated for a lifetime of achievement in their respective fields, creating a virtual who’s who of hospitality, among them Barry Sternlicht, David Rockwell, Steve Wynn, Michael Bedner, Stephen Starr, Philippe Starck, Adrian Zecha, Danny Meyer, Art Gensler, Nobu Matsuhisa, Daniel Boulud, and many others.

Kit Kemp said of winning the award ‘we are truly honored to be awarded with the Platinum Circle, considering the recipients who have gone before us. We love what we do and continue to strive to offer the very best we can so that guests feel inspired by our spaces. Thank you Hospitality Design for including us in such an esteemed event.
