Providing hotels and venues with a unique opportunity to showcase their facilities - The CHS Awards allow even the smallest independent venue to be recognised for an aspect, service or feature of their property or service. The CHS Awards are judged by an independent panel of over 50 event professionals from leading agencies throughout the UK.
The Principal York that is part of PRINCIPAL group, a small collection of landmark city centre hotels including the upcoming Principal London, recently underwent a multi-million pound restoration project to restore and rebrand the 120 year-old landmark with its ten bespoke meeting and event spaces.
The hotel wins the accolade following a series of recent notable award wins, including Gold Award for Hospitality Interior Design at the London Design Awards 2016 and Best Hotel Interiors at Lateroom.com’s ‘Simply The Guest’ 2017 awards – the only national industry honors to be based on guest feedback and customer reviews.
Richard Mansell, general manager at The Principal York said “We’re delighted to scoop Best Large Conference Venue Award as well as runner-up for Best Bedroom at The CHS Awards. It’s a huge win not only for us, but also for the city of York as a destination.
“We believe that an incredible location less than 2 hours from London’s Kings Cross with a facility to cater for any size meeting whether it be 2 or 400 has helped us to be recognised.
“Our people, new partners and innovative training processes have also been crucial to our success, from our newly installed guest relations team to our catering team who design tailored low GI delegate menus using the best local ingredients, we’re very proud to offer a distinctive Principal welcome.”
More than 250 event industry professionals attend the third annual CHS Awards which were preceded by a glittering gala dinner.
