The Capital Hotel, Knightsbridge, gains awards

The Capital Hotel, London’s luxury boutique 5-star hotel in Knightsbridge has added two awards to its tally this year: at the Kensington & Chelsea Business Awards, the showcase for best business and entrepreneurial talent in the borough, it won The Best Hotel in Kensington and Chelsea and The Best Business for Customer Service.

Alice Garbuio, Senior Guest Relations Manager and Lorena Somera, Executive Manager accepted the awards on behalf of the Capital team.   

The Capital was up against six shortlisted establishments for The Best Hotel in Kensington and Chelsea and was selected from 21 entries to win Best Business for Customer Service.  General Manager, Joanne Taylor-Stagg said: ‘I am delighted that our team has been recognized in this way, it is a worthy endorsement of their commitment and hard work’.   

These awards add to a growing list collected in the past year: Head Chef for The Capital’s Outlaw’s at The Capital, Andrew Sawyer, was also shortlisted by the Springboard Awards for Excellence 2018 for the Best Chef Development Strategy.  Sommelier Alessandro Pesarini was integral to achieving an AA Notable Wine List Award for Outlaw’s and he was third in the Bellavita Best UK Sommelier Awards. 

The Capital was Highly Commended by The Afternoon Tea Awards this year and in addition, Concierge Graham Luff was shortlisted for both Boutique Hotelier’s Concierge of the Year and Golden Keys’ London Concierge of the Year awards.
