Sundial Venues awarded Platinum and Gold for sustainability

Sundial Group’s three meeting venues have achieved Green Star Certifications for 2016 from the International Association of Conference Centres (IACC) as a result of their commitment to sustainability.
Highgate House in Northamptonshire is one of three venues internationally that has received Platinum status while Woodside in Warwickshire, and Barnett Hill in Surrey have received Gold..

IACC has a rigorous Code of Sustainability which includes 60 tenets in areas including waste management, recycling, purchasing, energy management and food and beverage. Venues that achieve 100% of the Code qualify for Platinum and those that achieve 85% qualify for Gold.

The highly rated certifications are testament to Sundial’s ongoing dedication to protecting the environment, embarking on many sustainability initiatives including extensive recycling, reducing food waste and having honeybees on-site.

By signing the Code of Sustainability, Sundial venues have agreed to support IACC’s Environmental Policy, to adopt the tenets of the code, and join other members of the association to continually strive for greater sustainability.

Sundial’s Managing Director, Tim Chudley, said: “This international standard has helped us to develop and measure our commitment to sustainability, minimising our impact on the environment and growing our commitment to responsible business and our local communities. We know this matters to our people and our customers because it demonstrates how much we care as an owner managed, values driven business.”
