Solihull hotel shortlisted for national award

A four-star Solihull hotel has been shortlisted for a national culinary award which is voted for by the general public.
Hogarths Hotel & Restaurant in Four Ashes Road, Dorridge, has been nominated in the Hotel Restaurant of the Year category in the inaugural Food Awards England and Wales.

Thousands of nominations have flooded in for the awards which are designed to recognise the efforts of England and Wales’ restaurants, takeaways, gastro pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and bistros as well as shine the spotlight on local producers who supply delicious ingredients.

The black tie evening will be hosted by Miss United Kingdom Supranational Rachelle Perez at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on Monday, November 17.

Hogarths Hotel & Restaurant has been shortlisted in the Midlands section of the Hotel Restaurant of the Year category alongside six other venues.

Steven Quick, general manager of Hogarths Hotel & Restaurant, said staff are delighted to have been nominated in the first Food Awards England and Wales.

He said: “Our category focuses on recognising a hotel which has a proven track record of providing first-class service and food time and time again.

“The public was also asked to look at attention to detail, the venue’s commitment to future developments and their overall experience throughout their visit.

“We pride ourselves on providing a warm welcome for guests and the hotel is constantly being refurbished to make sure the venue is always looking its best.

“This has been a tremendous year for Hogarths after receiving four stars from the AA, celebrating ten years since Helena and Andy Hogarth took over and staff winning awards in the Solihull Chamber of Commerce Awards.

“It would be fantastic to complete 2014 by winning the Hotel Restaurant of the Year title in these national awards and we are very much looking forward to the presentation night.”

Serving the very best in food hospitality, from servers, to specialists and suppliers, the evening promises to be the biggest in the English food calendar.

As well as the awards, the event will also help raise funds for the official charity partner, Make A Wish Foundation UK which grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
