Red Carnation Hotels wins HR team of the year at 2015 Hotel Cateys

The Red Carnation Hotel Collection has again been recognised for its outstanding commitment to its staff after winning Human Resource team of the year at the 2015 Hotel Cateys. The award, collected by Liz McGivern, Vice President of Human Resources, is the latest in a long list of accolades for the boutique hotel collection.

The glittering awards ceremony was held on Friday 27 November at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. Attended by all the biggest names in the industry, the Cateys are considered the Oscars of the hotel industry.

Since its inception in 1984, the Cateys have cast a spotlight on the industry’s high flyers, strongest performers and leading hotel brands. Recipients of the prestigious awards are nominated, selected and rewarded by industry peers.

Red Carnation Hotels has been recognised for its excellent staff many times in the past. It was the first privately owned company to gain gold status by Investors In People across its worldwide operations. This year, Red Carnation Hotels was listed number two in Britain for The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2015, having debuted just four years ago at number 71.

Beatrice Tollman, President and Founder of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, is a leading example of the company’s successful human resource structure. Mrs Tollman makes the time and effort to personally attend every staff tea party and staff Christmas lunch across the collection. Staff are recognised for their outstanding efforts at an annual Appreciation Party and offered first class training opportunities. Mrs Tollman also encourages Red Carnation staff to participate in numerous Corporate Responsibility initiatives and charity work by offering two Volunteer Days per year as part of their contract.

Liz McGivern, Vice President of Human Resources at The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, said:   “We are all so proud and delighted on winning the HR Team of the Year at the Hotel Cateys - which we consider to be the Oscars of the of hotel world!  To be judged by our peers in the industry and recognised by them for our dedication, hard work and innovative initiatives is truly an honour and as a team we really appreciate this.  I would like to thank our owner, Mrs Beatrice Tollman for her support and for giving us the resources to do what we do and also to Jonathan Raggett, for his day-to-day inspiration and leadership.  Thank you to the judges who I know, when I look at the list of shortlisted companies, must have had a tough job on their hands.”

The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is an award-winning collection of five and four star family-run boutique hotels in London, Dorset, Guernsey, Geneva, Ireland and South Africa.
