QHotels HR team recognised in top industry awards

QHotels has been shortlisted in two categories in Caterer.com’s People Awards 2016.  
The awards, run by hospitality recruitment company Caterer.com, acknowledge companies’ continuing efforts in improving the working lives of those in the UK hospitality industry.

QHotels has been shortlisted for the HR Team Award after a year of successful management development and specialist training initiatives delivered by the HR department. The hotel group has also been nominated for the Emerging Talent Initiative Award, which recognises the group’s apprenticeship programme, Get Into Q.  

Get Into Q was launched earlier this year as part of the group’s commitment to creating 100 new apprenticeships in 2016, and a total of 300 apprenticeships by 2017. QHotels currently has 145 on-going apprenticeships at its 26 four-star hotels across the UK.  

Lisa Redding, Group Resourcing Manager at QHotels, said: “Our aim is to continuously improve training and development opportunities for QHotels employees, so our Get Into Q apprenticeship programme is designed to introduce young people to sustainable employment in hospitality and promote the industry as a great place to work.  

“Our service is inspired by our customers, so it’s vital that we employ and retain talented people with natural intuition for understanding guests’ needs, and the HR team play a huge role in this. It’s great to see the team be recognised for their achievements in being nominated for the two awards.”  

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 12th October, at Park Plaza Westminster, London.
