Levy Restaurants UK celebrates sporting success

Levy Restaurants UK and its partners are celebrating sporting success with an array of award wins, as well as hosting the Stadium Events &Hospitality Awards 2016 last week.
Held at the Ricoh Arena, home to Premiership Rugby Club Wasps and Coventry City Football Club, the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards saw the Levy Restaurants UK team cater for 370 guests from football and rugby stadia across the country, who came together to celebrate their ‘off the pitch’ successes.

Reading Football Club received the Directors Choice Award, a category that is voted for by Directors at every club, whereby they select the best matchday experience when travelling with their team. They are specifically asked to consider the welcome, service and catering.

Furthermore, Sheffield United Football Club received the Non-Matchday Mystery Shopper Award, which sees clubs around the country judged in by a mystery shopper. The team at Sheffield United has helped deliver 53% C&E sales growth over the last two years. Silver awards were also presented to the teams at Leicester City Football Club and Chelsea Football Club at the ceremony.

Elsewhere, Twickenham Stadium took home the ‘Product Innovation’ award at The Stadium Business Awards 2016, as well as being named ‘Venue of the Year’. The awards, which were announced during an exclusive gala dinner on the pitch at The Bernabéu, are part of the Stadium Business Summit, the world’s leading meeting for the owners, operators and developers of stadiums, arenas and sport venues.

In 2015 Twickenham completed the roll out of contactless payment technology across the entire estate, which also involved a comprehensive point of sale (POS) deployment. Taking the very best from the retail sector to enhance the stadium’s match day fan experience this dramatically improved the speed of service, as well as providing the foundation for future innovation and technology deployments.

Capping off a week of awards success, Edgbaston Stadium hosted the very first Birmingham Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards. The stadium was also awarded ‘Best Venue’ at the ceremony where it was recognised for its proven track record in delivering events and for the quality of its hospitality offering.

Colin Bailey, Managing Director, Levy Restaurants UK, comments: “We are at the forefront of stadium catering, design and technological innovation and are committed to contributing to an exceptional fan experience through excellent food, drink and service. It is fantastic to see our partners and our catering teams recognised by industry peers and sporting directors and it is testament to the hard work all the teams have put in to delivering this vision.”
