HeadBox, the UK’s first online marketplace for creative, inspiring and off-site spaces, has been nominated for ‘fastest growth company of the year’ at the High Potential Business Awards 2016.
Celebrating the partnerships that drive business forward, the awards, now in their tenth year, recognise the UK’s most promising and fast-growing businesses and the finance and advisory organisations that support them.

The ‘fastest growth company of the year’ category acknowledges either an individual or organisation that has made a significant contribution to the growth of small and medium-sized businesses in the past 12 months.

Founded in October 2015 with £1.2m funding, the online platform’s board directors include: HeadBox chairman, Ralph Kugler, who is also Chairman of Cognita Schools and former Main Board Director of Unilever, Plc; Martin McCourt, former CEO of Dyson; Aaron Simpson, Global CEO and co-founder of the Quintessentially Group; and Andy Cosslett, former CEO of InterContinental Hotels and former Chairman of the Rugby World Cup.

The nomination follows a successful 2016 during which the online marketplace expanded into Birmingham and Manchester and gained a place in the influential 2016 Startups 100 list as featured in The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph and Forbes.

HeadBox CEO and founder Andrew Needham says: “We are delighted to be nominated for an award that focuses on businesses that have displayed impressive organic growth. It is a testament to the strong team of HeadBoxers I have with me and acknowledges the close group of experienced and supportive investors that are on board with HeadBox. The company was born as a result of how difficult and time-consuming it was to book creative spaces. We are proud to be part of the SME community and shortlisted for an award where every stage of a new business is celebrated.”
