Acclaimed French pastry chef Cédric Grolet from Dorchester Collection’s Le Meurice in Paris has been awarded “The World’s Best Pastry Chef” at The World's 50 Best Restaurant Ceremony 2018 last night.
This tremendous achievement recognises not only his talent for creating sensational pastries but also his dedication to perfecting his craft.

Earlier this year Cédric opened his first pastry boutique at Le Meurice in March 2018, showcasing a selection of unique desserts, such as the signature trompe-l’œil sculpted fruits, which made him famous.

Commenting on his award, Cédric Grolet said: “It is an honour to win an award which gives me a platform to shine a light on the incredible creativity of pastry chefs the world over. I have been inspired by many innovative chefs in my career and especially by the pâtisserie tradition of my home country of France. I always seek to create moments of togetherness, menus which produce lasting memories and introduce diners to our world. After all, that is what we, as chefs, seek to do every day.”
