Foxhills gym in the running for top award

Foxhills Club & Resort in Ottershaw, Surrey has been shortlisted for a prestigious fitness industry award having beaten off competition from gyms all over the country.
The club has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Hotel Facility of the Year’ category in the National Fitness Awards, the biggest free-to-enter awards in the industry, which recognise excellence, innovation and achievement in gyms.

The national awards are organised by leading fitness industry magazine Workout, with support from headline sponsor ServiceSport, and in each category up to seven finalists have been selected from the hundreds of entries.

The gym will now be visited by a member of the National Fitness Awards' team who will take a look around the facilities, interview the manager and speak to Members and staff before compiling a comprehensive report, which will then be passed on to an expert judging panel to choose the worthy winners.

They will be revealed at a glittering awards ceremony on Friday, 4 December at The Athena in Leicester, which will be hosted by fitness entrepreneur and TV personality Katie Bulmer-Cooke and Olympic swimmer and commentator Steve Parry.

National Fitness Awards’ director Judith Halkerston said: "It's been another great year for the National Fitness Awards with an excellent standard of entries – the work going on in fitness facilities up and down the country is inspirational and every gym which has made the shortlist should be very proud of their achievement thus far. Congratulations to them all.

“The NFA team members are busy packing their bags and preparing to travel thousands of miles from as far north as Aberdeen to Cornwall and The Channel Islands in the south to see the fantastic work that is going on up and down the country every day within the health and fitness industry.”

Jason Adams, General Manager of Foxhills Club & Resort said: “This nomination, in our fortieth year, recognises not only the excellent sporting and fitness facilities that Members and visitors enjoy when they visit Foxhills, but the level of service they can expect throughout their experience.

“The Foxhills family includes world class sporting professionals, fitness experts and enthusiastic and experienced team members whose sole purpose is to ensure Members and visitors get the most out the resort. Our healthspa, recently named Residential Spa of the Year (10 rooms or less) at the 2015 Professional Beauty Awards, ensure visitors to Foxhills always leave feeling better than when they’ve arrived.”
