EICC scoops ‘Best Large Venue’ prize at industry awards

The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) won the ‘Best Large Venue’ prize at ‘The Drum Scottish Event Awards’ at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. The biggest awards ceremony for the Scottish events industry, Edinburgh’s leading conference venue saw off competition in the category from the SECC and National Museum of Scotland on a night where the other big award winners included The Ryder Cup and MTV Europe.

The EICC’s Chief Executive, Marshall Dallas, said: “To be chosen by our industry peers in such a hotly-contested category is a great achievement for the whole team at the EICC. 2015 is shaping up to be one of the most successful years ever at the venue and testament to the hard work of every single member of the team. However, the last thing we will do is rest on our laurels as we continue to pursue our goal of being one of the very best conference venues on the planet.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Event Awards judging panel said: "For a versatile events venue which the judges described as hugely impressive the award has been given to the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.”

Some of the EICC team will be flying off to Las Vegas for IMEX America (October 13-15), the largest meetings industry trade show worldwide and a significant opportunity to market the venue to a North American audience.
