Custard Communications’ clients scoop multiple travel industry awards

Last week (16 November 2017), five of Custard Communications’ clients – Northumberland-based Battlesteads Hotel & Restaurant, Scottish Highlands retreat The Torridon, Victorian coastal hotel The Grand Eastbourne, Pimlico-located five-star bed & breakfast Georgian House, and The Master Innholders - were announced as winners of coveted travel industry awards in various ceremonies taking place across the UK.

North East England Tourism Awards
Sustainable hotel, restaurant and observatory Battlesteads is celebrating after being named Hotel of the Year at the 2017 North East England Tourism Awards.

Held at The Boiler Shop in Newcastle last week, the North East England Tourism Awards celebrate the very best tourism businesses in the region.

Battlesteads will now go on to represent the North East at the Visit England Awards for Excellence in 2018.

Scottish Apprenticeship Awards
The Torridon’s 22 year old Rosie Wilkins was awarded two trophies at the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards – Apprentice of the Year Level 2, and Scotland’s Apprentice of the Year.

Held at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow, the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards are organised by Skills Development Scotland (SDS), Scotland’s national skills body.

Springboard Awards for Excellence
The Grand Eastbourne was named Best Work Experience Provider, while the hotel’s Personnel & Development Manager Sarah Hoyle was named Single Ambassador of the Year.

Georgian House received the Education & Industry Partnership Award for highlighting the importance of links between industry and education at every level and working closely with schools, colleges or universities. The Master Innholders Aspiring Leaders Diploma (MIALD), a training programme for junior hotel professionals, was awarded Best Management Strategy.

Held at Novotel London West, The Springboard Awards for Excellence celebrate and reward the inspiring individuals, organisations and initiatives that have successfully raised the profile of the hospitality industry.
