Blair Castle celebrates award-winning start to summer season

Blair Castle and Gardens
Blair Castle and Gardens is celebrating an award-winning start to the summer season after winning an Award of Excellence and being shortlisted for another leading industry award.

The Award of Excellence, given by Irish coach tour operator CIE Tours International, was presented to the visitor attraction as a result of the positive experience customers have had during their time exploring Blair Castle and Gardens in Scotland. The second year in a row Blair Castle has been presented with the accolade, which is testament to the high-quality experience every visitor receives.

Recognising the quality of the UK’s hotels and attractions, CIE honors those who have achieved a 90% customer satisfaction rating or above, through its Award of Excellence programme. In 2017, CIE saw a 10% rise in visitors on their UK tours, bringing 15,000 visitors to the UK.

Hot on the heels of this, Blair Castle has also been shortlisted for ‘Tourist Attraction of the Year’ at the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2018, with Blair Castle Caravan Park a finalist in the ‘Best Caravan Park’ category. Up against prestigious attractions including The Royal Yacht Britannia, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the winners will be announced on Tuesday 29th May.

The Scottish Hospitality Awards aim to recognise and reward those within the hospitality industry who work hard to give their customers the best possible experience. Nominated by members of the public, the historic venue was awarded ‘Tourist Attraction of the Year’ in 2017, with Blair Castle Caravan Park also taking the crown for ‘Best Caravan Park’ the same year.

Julia Sim, Head of Sales and Marketing at Blair Castle, said: “At Blair Castle we always put our visitors first, doing everything we can to ensure they have the most enjoyable and rewarding visit, which is why we are so delighted to have won and been shortlisted for awards voted for by the public.

“Winning, and even being shortlisted for, prestigious industry awards such as these demonstrate our commitment to being one of Scotland’s leading tourist attractions. We are constantly working to provide new experiences for our guests to enjoy, with our ‘Victoria at Blair Castle’ exhibition opening its doors earlier this year and look forward to welcoming each and every one of our visitors throughout the rest of the season.”
