Held at Brighton’s iconic Grand Hotel on Wednesday 2nd December, the awards ceremony celebrated the elite visitor experiences across the South and South East of England.
Organised by Tourism South East, the awards help drive ambition and raise standards throughout the region rewarding excellence and significant contribution to the tourism industry.
The prestigious business tourism award reflects Barnett Hill’s commitment to excellence in quality, customer care and business practice. It is also testament to the hard work of the team who are dedicated to providing an outstanding experience for customers.
This has been an exciting year for the Guildford venue, which was the first hotel and conference centre to become Living Wage accredited, a historic first for the hospitality industry.
Tim Hall, General Manager at Barnett Hill, who accepted the award on the night, said: “I am absolutely delighted on behalf of all the team at Barnett Hill to have won the Gold award for Business Tourism. Having won the Silver award in the same category last year, this year’s achievement reflects the continued hard work and commitment shown by all the team throughout the past 12 months in delivering a first class customer experience.”
Commenting on the awards, Nigel Smith, CEO of Tourism South East said: “It was a fantastic evening at the Grand Hotel and a real privilege to be in the company of so many dedicated and passionate tourism businesses. The excellent quality of facilities, service and approach makes our role of promoting the South East so much easier and is one of the main reasons why we are the most popular UK tourist region outside London.”
Barnett Hill is now invited to champion the South East at VisitEngland’s Tourism Excellence Awards taking place during English Tourism Week in March 2016.
