The awards were launched in 2006 and aim to celebrate the very best in learning and development practice. Ashfield Meetings & Events celebrated with 16 other winners by collecting the gold award in the Organisational Development category for their Bitesize training and development programme.
Bitesize was introduced to ensure employees could learn relevant skills, network and share best practice across a broad range of subjects including company initiatives, best practice, soft skills and legislation. As the events industry is fast-paced and time-demanding the training was developed to be up-to-date, accessible and relevant to each individual. In 2013 Ashfield delivered 74 Bitesize courses covering 33 different subjects in six different countries. On average each employee attended six courses in the calendar year.
The Organisational Development category assessed agencies on the success of the programme, focusing on the challenge, the business objectives and the solution. Ashfield provided demonstrable metrics showcasing the success of the programme. The judges praised the innovation created through the level of empowerment staff have in designing their own schedule, the broad range of courses available and the fluid, ever-evolving nature of the programme.
