Anja Loetscher has received the Destinations International Hall of Fame Award for 2018 in recognition of her work as Director of the Geneva Convention Bureau. This award further cements Ms Loetscher's international influence in the convention and meeting industry.

On July 11th, Anja Loetscher was inducted into the Destinations International Hall of Fame 2018 at the annual Destinations International convention held in the Californian city of Anaheim in the United States. The Destinations International Hall of Fame award was created in 2014 to honour individuals who have changed the future of destination marketing for the better, made significant contributions to the advancement of the industry and shaped travel marketing.

“The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made tremendous contributions for our industry,” said Mrs Blount-Canavan, Destinations International Chair “This very deserving list has been key to the evolution of our industry and has shaped destination marketing and management for future leaders to come.”

This latest award is the crowning achievement of Ms Anja Loetscher's career

This award, the second ever to go to a European (IMEX founder Ray Bloom was the first recipient) is the crowning achievement of Ms Loetscher's professional career. She is set to retire next month. Having been named one of the most influential people in the convention and meeting industry by Successful Meetings, she went on to receive the mbt Meetingplace’s MICE Achievement Award, and in May of this year, the Paul Flackett IMEX Academy Award.

‘We are extremely proud that our organisation and Geneva as a destination has been put back on the convention and meeting industry map thanks to Ms Loetscher. This prestigious award once more rewards the efforts and contribution made over the years by Anja and her team’, said Mr Yves Menoud, President of the Geneva Tourism & Convention Bureau.
