BCEC hosts World’s Premier Horticulture Event

3,500 of the world’s leading experts in horticultural science have taken over the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre this week for the World Olympics of Horticulture – the 29th International Horticultural Congress (IHC 2014).
Experts from 100 countries have gathered in Brisbane to talk all things horticultural, everything from fruit and vegetables to health and an improved environment.

ACC Liverpool Production Team undergoes expansion

ACC Liverpool Production Team
ACC Liverpool has welcomed five new starters to its production and technical department, taking the team to 19.
Rich Neale has joined as production manager for entertainment and sport.  He joins from Saville Audio Visual where he was conference and live events manager for six years.
Tom Kaye has been recruited as senior rigging technician while Greg Chapman, Anthony Cowley and Mark Anderson join as production technicians.  Their roles include preparing, installing, operating and dismantling of production equipment, from small conference breakouts to large scale arena set-ups, to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of events.

BCEC hosts back to back conferences worth $21 million

The world’s leading language and linguistic specialists will descend on the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) this week for the 17th World Congress of the International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA 2014).
Attracting some 1400 delegates from 80 countries, the six day Congress will discuss and debate topics around the theme ‘One World, Many Languages’. Organisers say Australia is the ideal destination for the congress with more than 200 Aboriginal languages and a multi -cultural society.

ACC Liverpool achieves international event sustainability management standard

ACC Liverpool has boosted its green credentials even further after it achieved certification to the international standard ISO 20121, recognising the sustainability of its events.
The waterfront venue, one of the greenest of its kind in Europe, achieved certification to the Sustainable Event Management System standard which builds upon its existing management system standards such as ISO 14001, which was awarded in 2010.

ACC Liverpool unveils virtual journey of Exhibition Centre Liverpool

ACC Liverpool has unveiled a fly-through video of its new exhibition centre, a year ahead of its opening.  
The film allows viewers to take a virtual journey through Exhibition Centre Liverpool, bringing the venue to life.  
The animated video, which can be seen opposite, provides views of the 8,100 sqm exhibition hall in different configurations – from an exhibition to a conference to a standing concert.  The show reel illustrates how the venue can be subdivided into three 2,700 sqm halls.
