Transportation development for the Las Vegas Conference Centre

LVCVA logo
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has appointed The Boring Company (founded by Elon Musk) to design, build and operate a vehicle to act as a people carrier for the Las Vegas Convention Centre. The proposed route for the vehicle will incorporate a loop of underground express route tunnels.

If the project is accepted and approved by the LVCVA Board the route will potentially be able to connect the Las Vegas Convention Centre, Las Vegas Boulevard and McCarran International Airport with ease. Additional destinations may be incorporated at a later date.

As the ongoing expansion of the Convention Centre continues to develop, there is a need for on-site transportation linking the site to the strip, airport and beyond. It has been calculated that delegates who need to walk from one end of the Centre to the other have to walk approximately two miles on average.

LVCVA President and CEO Steve Hill said “Our destination thrives on innovation and reinvention and The Boring Company’s concept allows us to continue providing the world-class experience our guests and clients have come to expect and move people in an efficient and cost-effective manner with advanced technology.”
